About Us
The idea for this group originated in a conversation Darrell had with his daughter Ricki about his granddaughter Ashley. (Ricki’s daughter) Ashley was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes (Type 1) when she was four years old. Darrell has witnessed the many problems and concerns Ashley and her family face as they cope with her disease.

Darrell, having previous experience with fundraising events, started talking with friends and family about organizing a fundraising event to raise money for juvenile diabetes research. As he discussed this idea with people, he learned of many other families in the area who also had children with Type 1 diabetes. He began contacting these families, and our group started to form. We now consist of several members and meet on a regular basis as we move forward with our fundraising plans.
